Snow day at our house!

This is Addy's "get me out of this house or I'm gonna be so mad" look. We have had quite the snow storm and haven't been able to go anywhere. It's too deep and cold for her soft baby skin. She is usually a very happy little one, but boy can she frown. If my memory serves me correctly, she was born frowning. Brian and I must be boring ;)
Addy in her new hat. If she see's us go to the door she hands us her coat and 'tells' us to put it on her. She also MUST have her hat and mittens on. She loves them and will actually wear them.
Us out in the snow, before the big one hit....obviously.
She's not too sure about this.
This is her favorite thing to do. Push that Little Tikes car. I found it on Craig list for a whopping $6. Everytime we are in the garage she wants to take it for a spin. Head down and going like the wind is the way she drives. Such a big girl now!

Meal time with comfort food

Yummy! This is my ham and scalloped potatoes we had the other night for dinner. It turned out wonderful and we'll have lot of leftovers. I got the potato recipe from my girlfriend. We are always swapping wonderful recipes.
For the ham I simply slathered it with honey and covered it in brown sugar in the crockpot on high for 4 hours.
Now on to the scalloped potatoes. These turned out great.

I used 5 medium sized red potatoes
2 1/2 C. Evaporated milk
3 T. flour
3T. Butter

Slice all your potatoes into small rounds and discard the ends. Grease your 8x8 baking dish and layer potatoes. I seasoned mine with salt, pepper and some garlic. You can use whatever suits your fancy. Set aside. Melt butter in sauce pan and add flour 1 T. at a time stirring constantly. It will be a little chunky. Then stir in your milk and warm it, do not boil. Pour over potatoes and throw it in a 325 degree oven uncovered for 40 minutes. Remove and stir, COVER and put back in oven to cook for 1 hour. Enjoy!!

Believe me when I say this is really good. I love some good comfort food this time of year. You might want to run around the block a few times...I though about it but that didn't happen :)

Gosh we've been busy. Brian and I had our 2nd anniversary, Addy has broke three of her four molars, we have been to the beach, met new friends, spent time with old friends. Whew....time for a break.
While in Seattle Brian and I were able to sneak a quick picture in the same spot on the same chair where we had our very first picture taken. It was spectacular! Then we took one with our screaming daughter....not so spectacular. However, it was nice to stop for a second and thank our good Lord for the gifts He gives us. Even when things are crazy and our of control try to stop and remember God's grace.
I posted a couple pictures of the past couple months. My friend and I took our kids to get their pictures taken in costume at Bliss Studio. Whitney did a great job, as usual, they turned out great. That was the extent of our Halloween. Enjoy the pictures and God Bless!

14 months

We have been so blessed to have been able to take so many wonderful vacations this year.
We just got home from Lake Shasta with Kory and his family on a house boat. We had a blast, and here are some random pictures from Shasta & the beach. Addy is now 14 months and doing great. She is growing like a weed, cutting teeth, and testing mommies patience. Enjoy!

Addy & Jenning on the beach. She wanted out now and proceeded to tell me so! Jenning sat there and sucked him thumb. Didn't budge the whole time.
When she's in trouble I give her a look. She tried it on me.

Photo shoot

She was eating cheerios, the only way I could get her to stay in the light.
My pigtail girl in her birthday dress

This outfit was mine as a child, I think she looks like my Grandma Hammond here.
We couldn't get her to stay behind the camera, so I would set her down as far back as I could and she would walk forward. She was fast, but slow enough for Whitney to get a couple pictures.
I'm so big!
Here are some pictures of Addy's photo shoot with once again, Whitney from Bliss Studio. She did a great job and Addy was so happy to see her. She just had her one year check up. She weighs in at 22.5 lbs which is 80th percentile and 30.5 inches tall which is 90th percentile. Who knows what that really means, but they say she's healthy. She had four shots in her little arms, since she's walking they don't want them to have shots in their legs anymore. She smiled big for Whitney anyway right when we walked in the door. Enjoy the pic's!
