Addy's first hair cut

Addy had her first hair cut last weekend. It was a little sad.....but she was starting to grow a little baby mullet and I can't have that! We took her to a great place called Pigtails and Crewcuts. She got to pick from a plane, firetruck and little car. She sat in the plane and had fun 'steering' the entire time her hair was being cut. Along with the bribe of a few animal crackers she did great. They gave her a pink barrette and sent us on our way with a lock of her beautiful hair attached and a picture. Enjoy the pictures, they are in the wrong order ;)
So pretty...
During the task, cracker in mouth
Addy in the background and her girlfriend Gabby in the yellow car. They had their first hair cuts together.

Christmas

Barney sings when Addy squeezes his toes. She knows the hand motions to 'Wheels on the Bus' and 'When your happy and you know it'
She loves her hat and gloves. It means she's going outside.
Addy just loves to take pictures of herself and turn the camera around to see what it looks like. This is one of her self portraits.
She has quite the sense of humor
'hulking out', or worshiping. Not sure which one :)
Feeding herself, (notice the bib!)
Another self portrait, by Addy

So here are a few pictures of Addy during our Christmas break. I must admit that we didn't take any of her opening gifts this year. I know, I know.....we did take video and it is of me opening her gifts. She did a little ripping of the paper, but her little heart just wasn't in it. I inserted the video below. So instead we celebrated the birthday of our savior and sipped hot chocolate while be thankful for every last minute of family time we were blessed with.
It's funny how overwhelmed and busy we get during this season, especially this one, and we were snowed in most of it. Most plans were postponed and presents went unopened. It was the most wonderful gift I could have asked for. Family time.

Snow day at our house!

This is Addy's "get me out of this house or I'm gonna be so mad" look. We have had quite the snow storm and haven't been able to go anywhere. It's too deep and cold for her soft baby skin. She is usually a very happy little one, but boy can she frown. If my memory serves me correctly, she was born frowning. Brian and I must be boring ;)
Addy in her new hat. If she see's us go to the door she hands us her coat and 'tells' us to put it on her. She also MUST have her hat and mittens on. She loves them and will actually wear them.
Us out in the snow, before the big one hit....obviously.
She's not too sure about this.
This is her favorite thing to do. Push that Little Tikes car. I found it on Craig list for a whopping $6. Everytime we are in the garage she wants to take it for a spin. Head down and going like the wind is the way she drives. Such a big girl now!

Meal time with comfort food

Yummy! This is my ham and scalloped potatoes we had the other night for dinner. It turned out wonderful and we'll have lot of leftovers. I got the potato recipe from my girlfriend. We are always swapping wonderful recipes.
For the ham I simply slathered it with honey and covered it in brown sugar in the crockpot on high for 4 hours.
Now on to the scalloped potatoes. These turned out great.

I used 5 medium sized red potatoes
2 1/2 C. Evaporated milk
3 T. flour
3T. Butter

Slice all your potatoes into small rounds and discard the ends. Grease your 8x8 baking dish and layer potatoes. I seasoned mine with salt, pepper and some garlic. You can use whatever suits your fancy. Set aside. Melt butter in sauce pan and add flour 1 T. at a time stirring constantly. It will be a little chunky. Then stir in your milk and warm it, do not boil. Pour over potatoes and throw it in a 325 degree oven uncovered for 40 minutes. Remove and stir, COVER and put back in oven to cook for 1 hour. Enjoy!!

Believe me when I say this is really good. I love some good comfort food this time of year. You might want to run around the block a few times...I though about it but that didn't happen :)
