5.5 weeks old

Addy is now 5 1/2 weeks old. She has started to smile when we play with her, not only when she has gas. She has been holding her head up since we brought her home and she is only getting stronger. We have been sleeping a little better now that we can determine what each cry means. Sometimes she's hungry, or poopy, or just wants to be held. Brian is great at the 'cry factor', he always knows what she wants. She gets gassy so I have been trying to eliminate foods that we think would upset her tummy. Bye bye tuna fish :(

As you can see from the picture above Addy is a great eater. Sometimes she will want to eat every hour, or sometimes every four to five. But if it is every hour, it's the same for diapers. She will poop all day long. Brian and I took her for her first boat ride in the fishing boat. She had a fun and slept the entire time. It was a little bumpy which shook everything in her body south. Towards the end of our tour she started to fart in a not so lady like manner and I realized she had a blow out on the ol'diaper all over mommy. So there we sat, poop all over both of us and it was getting cold so we had to get back to the dock fast. Everything was fine though, I changed her on top of a washing machine at our marina. She didn't know the difference :)

Enjoy the pictures, she has already changed so much!

Grandpa Hammond and his granddaughter

We went to my niece Kourtney and her new fiance Grant's engagement party last Saturday. It was a great time and Grandpa Hammond got to hold his granddaughter. She resembles her father here.

Another outing

Me, Jennifer and Jeff at the wedding.

Brian, Addy and I went to our friends' wedding July 28th. During the father/daughter dance all the men got to take their daughters on the floor. I had to capture the moment. Addy did great through out the whole wedding. She ignored me as I stared at her on my toes ready to pounce the second she looked like she might think of crying. Towards the end of the reception ,and after many feeds and diaper changes, the music got too loud to notice her cry in her car seat. So we made an exit. Another Addy outing acomplished without me crying, either of us getting pooped/peed on or losing the child. Just a couple things new moms worry about. You all understand :)
Until we meet again...

Addy's first vacation

The family at Smith Rock.

Brian and I took Addy to Grants Pass to visit some friends and family and she really enjoyed sleeping in our fine linen sheets at the hotel! We also went to Crater Lake and Smith Rock. She did very well and slept like a baby in the car. What a good girl!

Here is a picture and daddy and Addy at Smith Rock.

Happy belated 4th!

Addy wanted to let everyone know that she really is patriotic. She just wanted to stay in the womb to celebrate. Here is her first bikini.

Pictures by Bliss...again!

She has already changed in just two short weeks.
These two are my world.

We still love you Addy :/

We just had Adalynn's pictures taken my our fav photographer, Bliss studio. They turned out really great. Addy was a little unhappy at first. We laid her on a cold hard stool in the cutest cowgirl outfit, and she screamed. (See above) It was so cute, we bought it! :) You can see the rest at http://www.blissstudio.net/ go to children, then preview.
She also had some naked baby pics taken with Brian. While in the buff she took full advantage and peed all over him. I got to him with a diaper just in time...she was done. We both have yet to be pooped on, but she is only 4 weeks!

Adalynn is here!!!!

Mommy and her girl. She's one day old here.
Addy and Daddy, her favorite place to be!

Just minutes old.

Soooooo....God gave us our little miracle on July 5. We have been so busy I haven't had a chance to post anything. I'm sure you all understand :)

I went into labor on the 3rd. Brian and I were at the St Paul Rodeo eating funnel cake (he thinks the funnel cake is what put me over the edge) and I started to cramp. Sure enough, we got home around midnight and I started contracting around 2:00am. We arived at the hospital at 10:30am. Addy finally decided to leave her favorite warm home to show us her beautiful face at 1:03 the next morning. What an experience!

She weighed in at 9lbs 8oz, 22 inches long and a 14 inch head. I thought she would be on the bigger side....I had NO CLUE she would come out as a one month old. She lost some weight and was down to 8lbs 14oz. By her 2.5 week appointment she was back up to 10lbs 10oz. Our pediatrician, bless his heart, said "Wow....your milk really came in, didn't it?!" He said they are happy if babies make it up to their birth weight by the two week appt. Our baby girl was an over acheiver.

Birth went very well, a little long but worth it. I had her almost naturally. I dilated to 8cm before I decided to get an epidural. I wanted to know what it felt like, a little sadistic....I know. So I felt it and that was plenty, bring on the drugs. I was able to sleep a little but I stopped dilating. God knew what had to happen and my epidural stopped working. I started to feel the contractions and dilate again...bummer. I had then redue my epidural and not long after she arived. Brian was by my side the entire time. I could not have given birth to our child without him. He did all the counting to ten while I pushed, he got me everything I needed. He even rubbed my feet. What a wonderful experience to bring life into this world together. Now we have a little family and I wouldn't change a single thing. We are so blessed!
